Yesterday wasn't the most productive. Too much time here among other things.
I did do a little cleanup on my graphing scripts. One of them was in pretty good shape, but the other was cluttered with dead code. So got it cleaned up, the checked both into the version control system, then went about displaying the script version on the graphs (very faintly).
I also got the old data into the database for counties that reported for October but not for September. I was expecting that to be a big deal, but it turned out to be pretty simple, and there were more counties than I expected.
Bloody cold today. It has warmed up to 19, but the thermometer said 13 when I woke up this morning. Seems like a good day to put a fire in the fireplace and stay home.
I gotta quit reading the news. There was an AP article this morning that said that most states don't pass all of the child support payments on to the children, and in many states, they pass along nothing. I always knew that child support tended to be unfair, but I was always under the illusion that it was about caring for the children. I guess the whole point is about punishing the father. So much stuff I read just makes my blood boil. Maybe ignorance really is bliss; it's probably healthier, anyway.
There is something else that make me say hmmmm ... Seems like yesterday's hostage thing is awfully serendipitous. Hillary got beat up a bit in the Dems debate, then the Republican debate kept her off the front page for a couple days. This thing gives her a chance to look presidential.
And California is finding out just how hard it is to cut greenhouse emissions. Apparently quite a number of companies are saying the only way is to cut production. Meanwhile, they are still trying to make their approach into the national model, even though it is becoming clear it probably won't work. Odds are, our leftist congress will go along with that. Liberals seem to like to ignore reality and pretend that the world is the way they wish it to be. grrrr...
